Doing it For The Culture

If you’ve been keeping up, then you’re already familiar with the For The Culture series at House of Blues New Orleans. Last night, some of our favorite acts from past weeks came together to put on an amazing show. The lineup included Rahim Glaspy, Casme, LeTrainiump, Semaj & Dorise and many more, with The Affiliates acting as the house band accompanying everyone on stage.

Dawn Richard opened up the show, fittingly enough, as she was the one to kick off the entire For the Culture series. You can check out a recap of her last performance here.

A very memorable performance of the night came from Chapel Hart Band. Locals may remember them as Hyperphlyy from when they would perform on the bar scene. If you’ve ever seen them live, then you already know, they pack every place with a crowd because their energy is electric. They really know how to put on a show. Now they’re making waves and killing it in the country music arena. These ladies are nothing short of amazing. They were later joined on stage by Tonya Boyd-Cannon, another powerhouse performer. There was a mix of genres represented, but it all felt so right.

Watching this live almost felt like things were back to normal for a bit. Live music truly is everything. In case you missed the live broadcast, you can view the recording on House of Blues’ Facebook. Check out some of these photos from the live performance.
