Reigning Super Bowl Champ Leonard Fournette returned home to host his third annual football camp for the kids in New Orleans. The camp took place on Saturday June 26 at Joe Brown Park in New Orleans East. It was free of charge for the kids to attend, and open to ages 7-14. The camp was quickly marked as "sold out" on Eventbrite soon after its announcement. Kids and their families showed up in large numbers on Saturday for a chance to learn from Fournette.
He kicked off the event with a quick speech addressing the kids and then they were separated into groups by age. There was no gender discrimination, as even some girls participated in the camp, and they played just as hard as the boys. The campers rotated between different stations throughout the day where they participated in drills and learned a different skill at each one. Fournette was very involved, even joining the kids in drills.
This was a great opportunity for the kids of New Orleans who love football, and they definitely had a great time. I love to see locals giving back to the community after they've made it big. Check out some photos from the event.
